What to expect at
GATOR ABC
For over 60 years, Gator ABC (Amateur Boxing Club) has been at the heart of the local community, providing a supportive and inspiring environment for both children and adults. Our training programs not only build boxing skills but also instill the values of hard work, discipline, and dedication.
Keith Markham, our current chairman and head coach, first joined Garden City ABC in 1980. In the late 1980s, a vote among young members led to the gym being renamed Gator ABC—a name that has since become synonymous with community-driven boxing excellence.
Our team of experienced trainers holds ABA Level 1 to 4 qualifications, and all are fully CRB registered.
Over the years, Gator ABC has produced champions at Divisional, Associational, and National levels, with many of our members proudly representing both London and England on the international stage.
Whether you're looking to compete or simply train in a welcoming and professional environment, Gator ABC is the place to be.
We are also a registered CHARITY no. 1131616.

THE POWER OF BOXING FOR THE YOUTH
For decades, boxing has been synonymous with grit, determination, commitment, and dedication. Beyond the physical benefits, the sport is known for its powerful character-building qualities. Through disciplined training, boys and girls develop self-control, self-confidence, and respect—for both themselves and others.
Engaging children in healthy and productive activities can be a challenge for any parent. The key to boxing’s success as a developmental sport is simple: it’s fun. At Gator ABC, kids and young adults thrive in a competitive yet supportive environment, enjoying both the challenges of training and the excitement of competition.
In today’s world, where concerns about youth crime, violence, and delinquency are ever-present, boxing provides a positive outlet. It channels energy in a constructive way, builds self-esteem, and helps young people set and achieve personal goals. More than just a sport, boxing fosters friendships, improves health, and offers a pathway to a brighter future.
